The winery is situated in a biosphere reserve, and the owners choose to use only sustainable farming methods, and are a member of the Biodiversity Initiative. History

Originally part of Kleinbosch Farm granted to huegenot Francois du Toit in 1692, Druk My Niet came to be when Petrus Jacobus Malherbe purchased a portion of land in 1818 from his father-in-law, who was the owner at the time. In 2002 the Kirchner family bought the farm and began a six year period of renovation and replanting of the estate, together with Malherbe Rust Architects and Future Growth Landscapers. This renovation returned some of the oldest buildings in the Paarl Valley to their former glory.

The old shed, which dates back to 1692, was converted into a modern 100 tonne cellar furnished with state of the art equipment. Two historical open fermenters were restored and the installation of new steel tanks followed shortly after. In 2008 the first wine, Mapoggo White, was produced on the farm with Mapoggo Red to follow in 2009. Druk My Niet focusses on the production of red varieties that are suited to warm climates along with Chenin Blanc.
